website

Fourteen years after the global financial crisis, how secure are banks? Can policymakers make the system safe at a time when rising interest rates have left the financial services sector exposed.

It is against this setting that The Economist Group, under the auspices of the British Embassy in Athens has great pleasure in organising the Global economy and financial services Gala Dinner entitled “Manoeuvring through the current turmoil”

This Gala Dinner will be held on June 19th, 2023, in Athens, under the auspices of the British Embassy in Athens and in partnership with the British-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce.

Distinguished personalities including well renowned Lord Jim O’Neill, former commercial secretary to the Treasury, former chairman, Goldman Sachs Asset-Management (GSAM), creator of the acronym BRICs, as well as Yannis Stournaras, governor of the Bank of Greece will be joining us to cover the following topics:

Can the financial world feel at ease or not following the recent shockwaves?
Are the BRIC countries challenging the West?
How long can inflation and interest rates last?
