Alona Shkrum

First deputy minister, Ukraine

Alona Shkrum is the first deputy minister for development of communities and territories in charge of international co-operation on Ukraine’s recovery.

Before joining the government in December 2024, she had served as an MP in the 8th and 9th convocations of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. In the parliament, she actively participated in Ukraine’s delegation in the Inter-Parliamentary Union.

Ms Shkrum studied international law at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, has MA degrees in law from the Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University and LL.M. Cambridge University.

She speaks fluent English, French and Spanish.
