Angeliki Frangou, daughter of a distinguished shipowner, established a private shipping company in her early adulthood. During the past 20+ years, Ms Frangou created and operated five public shipping companies, which formed the Navios Group.
Ms Frangou is the chairwoman and CEO of Navios Maritime Partners LP (“NYSE: NMM”), a diversified shipping company with a market capitalisation of about $2.0 billion, owning over 170 vessels in three segments and 15 vessel types.
Ms Frangou is also the chairwoman of Navios South American Logistics, Inc., one of the largest logistics companies in the Hidrovia region of South America, with about $1.0 billion of assets serving storage and transshipment needs of the region through terminal, river barge and cabotage operations.
Ms Frangou is also a member of the board of the Foundation for Economic and Industrial Research (IOBE), and of the Union of Greek Shipowners, vice-chairwoman of the China Classification Society Mediterranean Committee, member of the International General Committee and of the Hellenic and Black Sea Committee of Bureau Veritas, member of the Greek Committee of Nippon Kaiji Kyokai, and a member of the board of Gard P&I.
Ms Frangou received a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, summa cum laude, from Fairleigh Dickinson University and a Master's degree in mechanical engineering from Columbia University.
