Ansgar Hebborn

Dr Ansgar Hebborn is the head of access policy affairs Europe at F. Hoffmann-La Roche AG in Basel. With over 25 years of experience, Ansgar has dedicated his career to advancing the interface between the healthcare industry and health systems, particularly focusing on the development and adoption of innovative medicines and health solutions.

Ansgar currently chairs the HTA Working Group within the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA), with a specific emphasis on implementing the new EU HTA regulation. He represents EFPIA as a member of the EU HTA Stakeholder Network and serves as deputy chair of a working group under WHO Europe’s “Access to Novel Medicines Platform.”

Throughout his industry career, Ansgar has held various roles related to health policy, pharmaceutical pricing, market access, health economics, and outcomes research, leading multidisciplinary global teams based in Switzerland and the US.

Before joining the industry, Dr Hebborn, who holds a PhD in economics, was the managing director of the Institute for Social Insurance Law and Health Economics at the University of Bayreuth in Germany.
