Antonia Charitou

Dr Antonia Charitou, pediatrician-neonatologist-intensivist, is head of the department of NICU at REA Maternity Hospital in Athens, president of the Hellenic Society of Perinatal Medicine (HSPM), board member and member of scientific committee of the Union of European Neonatal and Perinatal Societies (UENPS). She has served as the first elected president of the Hellenic Neonatal Society (HNS), as well as board member of HNS and HSPM for a number of years. Ex-member of the Central Council of Health (KESY), in Greece. She has planned and implemented the NICUs of three Maternity Hospitals in Athens. She has organized Panhellenic Neonatal Conferences with International participation and has been in the organization committees in many National and International Conferences. She has the position of coordinator-director of NICUs since 2004, having previously served in National Health Service in NICUs of “Aghia Sofia” Children’s Hospital as a consultant.
