Cyril Schiever

Cyril Schiever is the SVP and president of Mid-Europe Region at MSD. He has responsibility for a region of 32 markets. As a leader of a region which is unified in its values and unique in diversity, he is passionate about empowering people to drive innovation. 

As a pharmaceutical industry expert, Cyril has 30 years of experience in various leadership roles. His entire career has been international, and he has held leadership roles in Europe, Middle East, Africa and Canada. His philosophy as a leader is to create a culture where diverse teams and individuals can thrive. 

Cyril’s passion to pharmaceutical industry is driven by helping patients live longer and healthier. He continuously advocates for ensuring patients get access to innovations, no matter where they live. He believes in collaboration and building partnerships. As managing director for MSD in France he created MSDAVENIR, a 75-million-euro research endowment fund dedicated to life sciences - enabling MSD to have today the largest number of public-private research partnerships within industry in France. Since January 2023 Cyril has been MSD representative to the EFPIA National Campaign Implementation Committee.

Cyril values diversity and inclusion and is an executive sponsor of MSD’s European Mentoring Program and the LEAD (League of Employees of African Descent) Employee Business Resource Group. He advocates for equal opportunities, building learning organizations and driving access to health. 

Cyril is a French national and holds an MBA and a master’s diploma in international business and marketing from the University of Paris-Dauphine.
