Vasilis Delis

Deputy Head, Educational Technology Sector

Born in 1970, married with two children. He studied Computer Science in Greece (University of Patras) and attended postgraduate programs in Great Britain (Edinburgh University), Hong Kong (University of Science and Technology) and Greece (University of Patras). He has taught Data Base courses at the University of Patras and the Hellenic Open University. His research interests include Data and Knowledge Bases, Geographic Information Systems, Large Scale Information Systems. He has extensive experience in the management of large IT projects. During the last 10 years he coordinates a 20-member team of scientists and engineers at CTI, a) implementing large scale information systems for the Greek educational community, and b) conducting applied research mainly under the LifeLong Learning Program of EU. He was awarded the 3rd price at the 2nd European Best Learning Game Competition, for the successful completion of the project “SIMSAFETY – Flight Simulator for Internet Safety”. He has consulted for the Greek Ministry of Education during 2010-2012, as the coordinator of the Action “Digital Management in Education”.
