Andreas Demetriou

Andrew Demetriou is a Barrister, Chartered Arbitrator and member of the International Panel of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He is a Director of the law firm IOANNIDES DEMETRIOU LLC in Nicosia and Limassol.  

Mr. Demetriou, within the ambit of IOANNIDES DEMETRIOU LLC, provides legal services in numerous international and local companies, organisations, state and public companies, including the Electricity Authority of Cyprus, the Federation of Associations of Building Contractors Cyprus (O.S.E.O.K.), the Cyprus Forest Industries, the University of Cyprus, the Cyprus Cultural Foundation and, more recently, Hermes Airports Ltd. He is also the legal advisor of the Ministry of Energy, Commerce, Industry and Tourism for the hydrocarbon exploration, extraction and production sharing contracts entered into by the Republic of Cyprus.

He has also represented the Republic of Cyprus in cases in Cyprus and abroad, following special appointment by the last three Attorney Generals. Mr. Demetriou has also acted for the British Government in cases against it within the Republic of Cyprus.

In the commercial sphere, he is a member of the Board of Directors of the DG Jones / Omnium International Ltd, Group of Companies, which is active in international construction with offices in more than twenty countries in Europe, North America, the Middle and Far East.
