Derek Aframe

Executive vice-president and co-head, integrated marketing division
Derek Aframe serves as executive vice-president and co-head of Octagon’s integrated marketing division comprised of nearly 40 retainer-based corporate clients. In his 16 years at Octagon, he has helped grow the agency into one of the world’s largest and most respected sports marketing firms.
Derek develops marketing strategies leveraging sports and entertainment platforms to drive customized KPI’s for clients. He has worked with many of the world’s leading brands in financial services, technology, consumer electronics, apparel, beverages, consumer products, leisure, heavy industry and insurance. He has overseen successful international marketing campaigns in over 50 countries and negotiations with nearly every major sports property. Some of the clients he currently oversees include Mastercard, Cisco, MGM, Doosan, Allstate, Johnson and Johnson, DHL, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and the Topps Company. Derek also serves as the North American representative of Octagon’s global football division. His areas of focus include B2C and B2B marketing strategy, marketing campaign and platform development, negotiations, interdisciplinary integration, and organizational and management structure. The account teams he leads have won numerous industry awards for integrated marketing campaigns in soccer, baseball, rugby, golf, the Olympic Games, culinary, entertainment, esports, digital and experiential marketing on behalf of clients.
Derek previously served as vice-president of operations for Major League Soccer team the New England Revolution. A SportsBusiness Journal Forty Under 40 honoree, he earned an MBA from Harvard Business School, and a dual degree in American History and English Literature from Brown University.
