Dorin Junghietu

Dorin Junghietu has been the minister of energy of the Republic of Moldova since February 2025, with over 15 years of experience in the industry, including more than 10 years in technical and managerial leadership roles in major energy projects in Kazakhstan, Oman, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Australia, and Spain. He has co-ordinated commissioning and startup activities for international companies such as ADNOC, Worley, Tecnicas Reunidas, and SATORP. He holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in chemical engineering, and his professional training includes executive programmes at Oxford, Harvard, and Yale, as well as a Master’s in dispute resolution from the University of Aberdeen. He is fluent in five foreign languages: English, Russian, Spanish, French, and Turkish.
