Elena Gkika

Elena Gkika is a director of human resources with more than 20 years of experience and 10 years in strategic executive roles. On 2009 she was assigned to the position of DHR in Costa Navarino, in order to design, implement and lead the long term human resources strategy of the company. Her main objectives were to establish Costa Navarino as the major employer in the region of Messinia and as one of the top working environments internationally, through the recruitment and continuous development of a dynamic, highly trained and engaged team of 1200 employees. Costa Navarino has been awarded as a Best Work Place 2013 and has been repeatedly recognized domestically (HR Awards 2015) and internationally (Starwood EAME best HR practices 2014, 2015).

Previously (2006-2009) she had been employed by Club Hotel Cazino Loutraki, where she led the company’s culture change campaign and redesigned the human resources strategy for 2000 employees. Main achievements were the development of a customer centered culture and the successful management of the up to that point conflicting working relations. The new HR strategy led to the award of the company as one of the Best Work Places 2009.

The previous five years she was employed as a human resources manager in Grand Resort Lagonissi and had also been a professor in Le Monde Tourism School, teaching Human Resources Management and Employees’ Psychology.  

She has studied Hotel Management in TEI Larisa, Political Science and Public Administration in Kapodistriako University of Athens and holds a MSc degree in Human Resources Management.
