Federica Mogherini

Former high representative of the Union for foreign affairs and security policy, former vice-president

Federica Mogherini served as high representative of the European Union for Foreign and Security Policy and vice-president of the European Commission from 2014 to 2019. She was previously minister of foreign affairs of Italy. As a member of the Italian Parliament from 2008 to 2014, she served in the Foreign Affairs and in the Defence Committees, in the Delegation to the Council of Europe, and as the chair of the Italian Delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly.

She co-chairs the UN Secretary General High Level Panel on Internal Displacement.

She is visiting professor at the College of Europe in Bruges.

She graduated in political science at the University of Rome, and has a honoris causa Doctorate at the University of Tampere, Finland.

She has two daughters.
