Kostis Hatzidakis
Deputy prime ministerKostis Hatzidakis was appointed deputy prime minister of Greece in March 2005. Prior to this position, he was the minister of economy and finance of the Hellenic Republic, a member of the Hellenic Parliament, and vice-president of the New Democracy party. Kostis Hatzidakis was born in Rethymno, Crete, in 1965 and is a lawyer.
He was a member of the European Parliament from 1994 to 2007. He has been a member of the Hellenic Parliament since 2007, representing Athens B1 constituency (North). He has served as president of the Youth Organisation of New Democracy (1992-94), member of the European Parliament (1994-2007), minister of transport (2007-09), minister of development (2012-14), minister of environment and energy (2019-21), minister of labour and social affairs (2021-23).
