Yiannis Constantatos was born in Argyroupoli in 1976 and he hails from Kefalonia. He is a graduate of the Athens University of Economics and the Department of Communication and Mass Media of the National Kapodistrian University of Athens. He holds a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Durham, Great Britain.
Until his election as mayor, he worked for 12 years as a senior executive in a large satellite telecommunications company, as well as a communications consultant to companies and political figures.Â
Since 2014, he has been serving as the mayor of Hellinikon-Argyroupoli. Additionally, from 2019 till May 2024, he has been the President of the Association for the Protection and Development of Hymettos (SPAY). In year 2019, he was appointed as the President of the "Management Body of the Metropolitan Pole Hellinikon-St. Cosmas," a position he still holds today.
In 2024 he is unanimously elected President of the Hellenic Network of Resilient Cities, an organization he inspired and includes 138 municipalities from all over Greece.
He is married to Elina Sauridis and is the father of two children, Konstantinos - Gerasimos and Dimitris.
