John Papageorgiou

John Papageorgiou is a distinguished EU affairs reporter with over 30 years of experience in the media industry. Since 2012, he has been at the forefront of covering stories related to the Greek financial crisis. John has been a prominent radio show host for various stations across Greece since 1992, and he currently presents the main morning news bulletin for the municipal radio of Athens.

In addition to his broadcasting career, John is the founder and head of “Athens Digest,” an English-language newsletter that offers comprehensive coverage of the latest news from Greece. He is also a contributor to Oxford Analytica and serves on the advisory board of the Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy (ELIAMEP).

Academically, John holds a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in chemistry from the University of Athens. He also possesses a diploma in journalism and radio production from a private college.
