Julien Baumont

Julien Baumont started his career in finance and audit in 2007. In 2012, he joined a corporate accelerator powered by a tier-one consulting firm, PwC, where he advised European tech start-ups and SMEs on their international expansion. During this time, he led number of projects from commercial and financial due diligence, strategic planning and fundraising in software and industrial goods, exclusively in B-to-B.

From 2016, he spent close to 7 years with European Investment Fund doing investments in European VC funds focusing on disruptive technology and climate innovation. He led 40+ investments in tech funds across the whole VC value chain (from technology transfer to late stage) taking Advisory Board positions in 50+ funds in 14 different countries. Throughout those years he enjoyed a unique opportunity to interact with and learn from some of the best-in-class VC firms.

Following this deep dive in the European VC eco-system, he decided in 2023 to embark on the journey with Shift4Good as partner with the intention to build the firm into Europe’s leading early-stage investor in sustainable mobility.
