Katerina Stefanidi

Aikaterini (Katerina) Stefanidi is an Olympic champion, world champion, European champion, and four-time Olympian, whose career has been defined by sustained excellence at the highest level of sport. As Greece’s national record holder in the pole vault and 2017 European Athlete of the Year, she has spent more than a decade competing on the world’s biggest stages, building a career centred on resilience, adaptability, and consistent high performance.

Beyond athletics, Stefanidi brings a unique scientific perspective to the study of human performance. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Human Biology from Stanford University and a Master’s degree in Cognitive Psychology from Arizona State University, where her research focused on memory, attention, and learning. She has published peer-reviewed research in leading scientific journals, contributed to the Encyclopedia of the Sciences of Learning, and served as both a researcher and teaching fellow in psychology and statistics.
