Ken Aagaard

President/ Former senior VP in charge of engineering, operations and production management

Aagaard has recently reached the milestone of his 50th year in the TV Broadcast business starting back in 1969 as an associate director working at the NBC owned and operated station WMAQ in Chicago. In 1976 Aagaard moved to NBC New York and began working in NBC Network management and sports operations. In 1983 he was named VP of sports operations and was responsible for NBC’s coverage of NFL including Super Bowls as well as MLB and World Series and other NBC Sports properties. In 1986 NBC made him VP of Olympic Operations for the Seoul ‘88 Summer Games.

 

Following Seoul ‘88 and 19 years with NBC Aagaard formed his own company CBT, which he continues to manage today. He helped design and build facilities like the Nickelodeon Studios in Orlando as well as producing large events like World Cup Soccer.

 

In 1998 he became Sr VP in charge of engineering, operations, and production management at CBS Sports while continuing to work on different projects and shows for CBT. His specialty was new technologies and he was responsible for things like the first 360 technology used at the Super Bowl in 2001, was the first US Network broadcaster to use High Definition in 1998, and introduced the first golf tracking system Protracer. During this time he helped build out the MLB Network and worked on multiple World Cup Soccers as well as consulted with Discovery on their Eurosports Olympic coverage.

 

Currently Aagaard is consulting with CBS Sports, Discovery Olympics, PGA Tour, MLBN, NEP, and others.
