Μinister of economy

Kreshnik Bekteshi is the Minister of Economy of the Republic of North Macedonia for third term that started on January 17, 2022. The first term as Minister of Economy was in the period from July 2017 to August 2020. The second term was from September 2020 to January 2022.

In the period July 2016 - December 2016 Bekteshi held the position of Head of the International Office of the Agency for Foreign Direct Investment and Export Promotion of North Macedonia in Bern (Switzerland). From July 1, 2011 - June 30, 2016 he was Head of the International Office of the Agency for Foreign Direct Investments and Export Promotion of North Macedonia in Brussels (Belgium).

Kreshnik Bekteshi holds Master of Science (MSc) degree in Management and Strategy (Logistics and Supply Chain Management) from the University of Sheffield and University Degree in Applied Arts and Sciences (Management and Business Administration) from the Rochester Institute of Technology.
As part of the educational process he has completed Associated Degree in Applied Arts and Science (Entrepreneurship and Business Development) at the Rochester Institute of Technology.
He has also completed trainings for EU Export Promotion for Commercial Attachés and Economic Diplomats at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, The Hague (Netherlands) and FDI Attraction Conway Events, Skopje (North Macedonia).

Kreshnik Bekteshi has experience in working with the public and private sector, organization of export-related events, sharing experiences with companies looking for new markets, experienced in working with emerging economies, knowledge for the needs of companies in the region, understanding in EU requirements for import from non-EU countries.
