Maja Pokrovac has a master’s degree in public policies and an MBA in energy economics. Since 2016 she has been a director of the business association Renewable Energy Sources of Croatia (RES Croatia), the only place in Croatia which gathers the RES industry, promoting sustainable and renewable energy mix for Croatia. RES Croatia strongly supports business and citizens models through synergy of RES and energy intensive industry, RES and agriculture using agrosolar and aquasolar, energy industrial zones and prosumer concepts. RES Croatia is representative of RE-Source platform for Croatia and the region and is a member of main European associations: SolarPower Europe, WindEurope and European Biogas Association.
From 2002 until 2014 she was a director at the Croatian Employers' Association responsible for economic branches of energy and financial market contributing to better investment and business policies. She also gained 2 years of experience as an advisor to the minister of entrepreneurship and crafts continuing to strengthen the entrepreneurial environment. She has acquired her professional experience in international environment working for the International Committee of the Red Cross in Geneva, International Campaign to Ban Landmines in Washington, City of Lausanne and in Abkhazia (Georgia) managing development and communication programmes.
She proactively contributes to the issue of economic empowerment of women. From 2018 till 2022 she was the president of the Croatian Association of Lobbyists whose goal is to promote transparent advocacy of interests. Since January 2023 she is the vice-president of the Croatian Association of Lobbyists.
