Graeme Maxton

Graeme Maxton is the author of seven internationally acclaimed books on climate change, energy, economics, and the automotive industry, which have been published in more than 20 language editions. He is an Advisory Board Member on the UN’s Energy Pathways Project, and of Population Matters. He was previously secretary-general of the Club of Rome in Switzerland and a regional director with the Economist Intelligence Unit in Asia.

His book, Change! Warum wir eine radikale Wende brauchen (why we need a radical turnaround), was a No. 1 best-seller in Germany. Other books include A Chicken can't lay A Duck Egg (2022) and Reinventing Prosperity: Managing economic growth to reduce unemployment, inequality and climate change (2016) which was written with Jorgen Randers, one of the authors of The Limits to Growth.  His book The End of Progress: How modern economics has failed us (2011) was nominated for the FT’s Best Book about Business Award and was a Spiegel top-20 best-seller. 

He was a visiting professor at Cass Business School in London from 1988 to 2002. He currently lives in Scotland.
