Pablo Zalba Bidegain

Pablo Zalba is a Spanish Member of the European Parliament, vice-president of the Committee of Economic and Monetary Affairs and substitute member of the International Trade Committee. He is also member of the Delegation to Chian and substitute of the Delegation to Chile.
Before becoming member of the European Parliament Mr. Zalba worked as director sales and business development of SIC Lázaro, as head of exports in Comansa and as head of Business development and Marketing at the Construction unit of Arcelor Mittal in Spain.
Mr. Zalba holds a bachelor degree in business management form the University of Navarra and a MBA from the London Business School.
As MEP he has been rapporteur of the bilateral safeguard clause of the EU-Korea Free Trade Agreement, of the Association Agreement EU-Central America and of the opinion on the protection of the euro and other currencies against counterfeiting by criminal law, replacing Council Framework Decision 200/383/JHA.
He is now rapporteur for the Amendment of Regulation (EU) No 99/2013 on the European statistical programme and for Interchange fees for card based payment transactions.
