Pelayo Cortina Koplowitz

Founder and chief executive, Oakmond

Pelayo Cortina Koplowitz is the founder and managing partner of Ilanga Capital, an investment platform focused on alternative hospitality, longevity, and real asset-backed operating businesses. Through Ilanga, he has founded and developed several platforms across hospitality and wellness, including Oakmond, a next-generation luxury longevity and preventive health platform.

With more than two decades of experience in investment management, platform creation, and value creation strategies, his work focuses on identifying long-term structural trends and building category-leading businesses at the intersection of health care, hospitality, and lifestyle.

Prior to founding Ilanga Capital, he held senior investment and executive roles across private investment and family office environments. He holds degrees in Industrial Engineering and Financial Management from Northwestern University.

Pelayo has served on the boards of Omega Capital, Afrika Financial Group, Engel & Völkers and Job&Talent. He is also actively involved in philanthropic, educational, and entrepreneurial initiatives through the Alicia Koplowitz Foundation, the Young Presidents’ Organisation (YPO), and Northwestern University, where he previously served as chairman of the international committee.
