Stylianos Loukides

Stylianos Loukides was born in Thessaloniki. He finished medical school at 1987. After 5 years of training, he took his specialty degree in 1994. He did a post-doctoral fellowship from 1996 to 1998 at Royal Brompton Hospital, National Heart & Lung institute under the supervision of Prof PJ Barnes.

His current position is Professor at 2nd Respiratory Medicine University of Athens Medical School, Attiko Hospital. He is member of the European Respiratory Society [FERS 2018], American Thoracic Society, EAACI and Fellow of American College Chest Physicians (FCCP 2007). He served ERS as the secretary and chairman of ERS monitoring airway diseases group from 9/10 to 9/16 respectively. He is an official member of the ERS college of Experts. Course Organizer of European diploma in Respiratory medicine preparation committee. E-learning resources director & member of the ERS educational council 2018-2021. From 9/23-9/26 ERS programmes director.

He is a member of ERS Guidelines committee. In 2010 with his colleagues, he received the annual ERS award for inflammatory airway diseases. In 2022 he received the annual teaching award of ERS. He has 192 publications in medical indexed journals. He has already served as a reviewer in more than 85 pub med indexed journals. He is an academic member of editorial for the Allergy journal, Clinical Medicine journal and the Plos one journal.
