Theoni Alampasi

Theoni Alampasi is a lawyer and the secretary-general for financial sector and private debt management at the Hellenic Ministry of Economy and Finance. Since the establishment of the secretariat, she has served as head of the Legal Department, developing extensive expertise in financial regulation, insolvency frameworks, and private debt management. She is a member of the INSOL/World Bank Group Legislative & Regulatory Colloquium Committee, contributing to international discussions on the design and implementation of insolvency systems.

During her career, Ms Alampasi has held senior positions in both public administration and the private sector. She held the position of head of the Directorate for Administrative and Financial Support at the Single Independent Public Procurement Authority. She is currently on the BoD of the Deposit and Investment Guarantee Fund and has previously served on the boards of the National Infrastructures for Research and Technology (GRNET) and Information Society S.A.

She has made a significant contribution to major legislative reforms in Greece, including Law 4738/2020, Law 4469/2017, and the Bridge I and II subsidy programmes for borrowers, while participating in numerous legislative committees.

Ms Alampasi holds a Law degree and a Master’s degree in Commercial Law from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and speaks English, French, and Italian.

Since October 2024, she has chaired the National Co-ordinating Committee for Financial Literacy. In January 2026, she was appointed Greece’s national financial literacy ambassador under a European Union initiative, actively supporting financial education and awareness through conferences, policy initiatives, and international co-operation.
