Vanessa Witte

Dr Vanessa Witte is executive director and oncology medical affairs strategy lead for Europe, Middle East, Africa and Canada at MSD Sharp & Dohme GmbH and brings 10 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry across different functions and therapeutic areas.

Before moving to her current role in the region Vanessa headed the Oncology and Infectious Disease Medical Affairs teams of the German MSD affiliate. She has a track record of building high performing teams that partner with internal and external stakeholders to bring the right medicine to the right patient at the right time. 

Vanessa holds a PhD in Biology. Prior to joining MSD she followed an academic career path including a three year postdoctoral scholarship at the Miller School of Medicine, University of Miami, USA and a five year tenure as a research group leader at the Medical faculty of the Otto-von-Guericke University of Magdeburg, Germany. Her area of expertise is molecular and cellular immunology and her research work focused on elucidating molecular mechanisms of virus-host interactions.
