Vassilis Giannopoulos

President

Vassilis Giannopoulos was born in Patra in 1972 and grew up at Perivola, Patra, Achaia. He is married and is the father of one child.
 
He has a degree in Agriculture from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, in Oenology from the Department of Chemistry of the University of Patras, and has an MSc in Microbiology and Plant Pathology from the University of Patras.
 
After the end of his military service he worked as an agriculturist and an  assessor for ELGA. 
 
In 2003 he became a professional farmer, taking over his family’s business. 
 
From 2005 onwards he constantly invests in new equipment and land expansion, enlarging by far the initial  family holding in tree crops and vegetables.
 
He is the president of the Union of Young Farmers of Achaia since 1998, and president of the Panhellenic Union of Young Farmers from 2007 until today.
 
He was a member of the committee for the 1.1.2 Program for Young Farmers for the District of Western Greece.
 
He is the representative of the Panhellenic Union of Young Farmers at the National Agricultural Network.
