24th Roundtable with the government of Greece

September 15th-16th 2020, Grand Resort Lagonissi

Europe: Reinforcing cohesion in turbulent times

The impact of the recent coronavirus epidemic on the global economy and business, brexit, migration flows, economic uncertainty and geopolitical tensions in the region will be at the forefront of this year’s Annual 24th Government Roundtable. Existing challenges make the strengthening of EU’s economic, social and territorial cohesion a priority.

How can Europe become smarter, greener, more connected, more social and closer to its citizens?
Will the EU manage to promote a positive agenda on sustainable growth and energy security until 2050?

This year’s Government Roundtable in Athens coincides with the Greek Government’s first anniversary. The Mitsotakis government has set already high targets to put the country back onto the global agenda and has introduced a new economic model.

• What are investors looking for? Is Greece’s agenda fulfilling expectations a year after the election?

Geopolitical tensions have escalated as EU leaders try to find a solution to the recent migrant crisis at the Greek – Turkish border while tensions have also fueled in the Eastern Mediterranean as a result of Turkey’s claims to drilling rights in the region.

• How can the recent EastMed alliance overcome these challenges?
