GREECE-GERMANY BUSINESS FORUM

April 5th 2016, Berlin

GREECE-GERMANY BUSINESS FORUM: RESTORING CONFIDENCE AND NAVIGATING FOR NEW TRADE AND INVESTMENT

An opportunity has arisen for a shift and improvement in Greek-German relations after the third €86 billion Greek bailout package was approved by the European institutions earlier in 2015 and the recent recapitalization of the Greek banking system. Confidence needs to be restored in order to boost economic and trade relations between Greece and Germany.

Today, Germany is among the principal foreign investors in Greece employing a workforce of approximately 29.000 and accounting for an annual turnover of some EUR 7 billion.
Cabinet ministers, prominent business and financial leaders shall take part in an open and constructive dialogue aimed at improving the economic and business climate which will in turn help Greece get back on track following a long period of stagnation and deep recession.

The Greek minister of Economy, Development and Tourism, George Stathakis, will present the new Greek Legislative Framework for Development. The president of the Hellenic Bank Association, Louka Katseli will touch upon the recent re-capitalization of the Greek banking system and how this may contribute significantly to business.

Greek and German business counterparts shall have the opportunity to conduct one to one meetings to explore joint ventures and investment opportunities in the fields of tourism, energy, infrastructure and telecoms.
