THE WORLD AHEAD 2024: SOFIA GALA DINNER

Wednesday, February 7th 2024 | Grand Hotel Millennium Sofia

In the wake of the Israel – Hamas war on the one hand and the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine, energy and commodities shortages, price hikes, regional instability and migrant inflows are driving the world to a multifaceted crisis. Mankind is moving into uncharted waters. At the same time, however, there is significant discussion at the European level on accelerating the green and digital transition and on reinforcing Europe’s unity and solidarity against these challenges.

Against this backdrop, the Southeast European region and Bulgaria, in particular, have a unique and critical role to play in fostering peace and cooperation with counterparts but also in securing energy security and supply for Europe.

The upcoming Economist World Ahead 2024 Sofia Gala Dinner will once again deliver fresh, robust and action oriented insights through an in-depth conversation with key international policymakers. The award-winning World Ahead Gala dinner series is where The Economist and invited luminaries share their bold, candid, and enlightening predictions for the year ahead with C-suite executives, high profile entrepreneurs and intellectually curious readers of The Economist.

This year’s event is scheduled to take place on February 7th 2024, at the Grand Hotel Millennium Sofia.
